How the work is handled

Editorial standards.

Every review should make it easy to separate what was advertised, what was tested, what happened, and what remains unknown.

Independence first

Standard reviews begin with an ordinary retail purchase made without advance notice to the seller or brand. Sponsorship, advertising, affiliate relationships, and provided products do not determine our findings.

Evidence before conclusions

Measurements, software reports, photographs, observations, and conclusions are identified for what they are. We do not turn one tested unit into a claim about every unit sold, and we state important limits in the review.

Fair descriptions

Reviews may be direct, especially when a claim fails, but they should describe the product and evidence accurately. We avoid guessing about intent, manufacturing source, or the reason for a discrepancy when the evidence cannot establish it.

Links and recommendations

A purchase link may be provided when a product performed as expected and the exact listing is known. We do not link readers to a unit we consider fraudulent, dangerously misleading, or unworthy of recommendation.

Updates and responses

New results, retests, corrections, and relevant seller or brand responses may be added after publication. Material changes are labeled so readers can understand how a report developed.
